Safer Internet Day (February)

Safer Internet Day (SID) is organised by Insafe in February of each year to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially amongst children and young people across the world.
Insafe is a European network. The mission of the Insafe cooperation network is to empower children and young people to use the internet, as well as other online and mobile technologies, positively, safely and effectively.
A range of resources to help children and young people, and their parents, carers, teachers and educators, experience a safer - and better - internet is available on its website.

Created by young people for young people, the Handbook for Teens, launched on Safer Internet Day February 2013, aims to explore rights and responsibilities and encourage reflection on their peers’ behaviour.
The Handbook for Educators provides lesson plans, worksheets and quizzes related to each chapter of the handbook for teens.
